abstract:
in the begining of the chapter they wake up to people kicking them and then they are forced to run for a very long time through a battle field and hid out on a hill . while on a hill they think of desertion and they make little and big shields made of sticks mud and rocks . anything that they think could slow down a bullet . they are then told to run back to were they came from . it was easier than the first time since they knew the terrane but the lowd soldure gets hit by a bullet and tells henrey to give his family a packadge.

i dont know why the leaders are having the troops do all of the things thaey are doing . they aren't helping in the war they are just getting tired and shot.
questions: why are the leaders having the troops just run around?
what was in the packedge that the lowd guy gave henrey?
