courage: henry displays courage more tword the end of the book when he stands and fights instead of running. but he does because he see's the courage shown by the leaders shown to him.
i tells you that if you face your problems you can beat them.
manhood: heny's journie to manhood is a long procces. he starts off joining top have fun but then finds out it is more than that but that you are fight ing for your country.
self-preservation: henry's self preservation is when he runs but he then learns to do the right thing and help his platoon and fight like a man.
disregard for human life: i dont think that there is such a thing as disregard for human live in a war because you are fighting for what you believe in. and even though you kill them it isnt like you doing it to have fun.
